Smartphones and the Story About NASA Zero Gravity Pen (Space Pen)

Evolutions of  Mobile phones

Zero Gravity Pen

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

The technologies of mobile phones are growing very fast. From a 'stone-age' Motorola DynaTAC mobile phones to one of the best smartphones now like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge which comes with the S pen. (Buy Samsung Note Edge Here)

Sometimes, we tend to forget the basic usage of the mobile phone which is making phone calls and that is why it is called a phone.

Now that our mobile phone are also used for Internet browsing, checking emails, Instant messaging, etc. That is fine as we are really utilizing the technology to the maximum.

However, as the phone engineers are looking for more smartphone features, it looks like the so-called features are now used in very ridiculous ways.
  1. We use the smartphone S pen to take the meeting notes. I don't know whether the intention is to show off or because we really use the technologies. But, most of the times, using traditional methods like pen and paper is still the most convenient and easiest way to take a meeting notes.
  2. Use of Power banks. Since we really are dependant on our smartphones now, most of us carry a power bank together with our phones. Doesn't this look like we are going backward to the time that the mobile phones were big and heavy?
  3. Instructing the phone using the 'voice command'.  I mean, why should we shout at the phone to do something that we can use our fingers faster?
  4. Watching TV's. Come on! You use your thousand-buck smart phones just to watch free national TV channel?
  5. Baby crying detector. I don't want to comment much on this. I think more crazy ridiculous 'features' will come soon.
Looks like the technologies especially the smartphones are making people more stupid. What is the point of having a smart phone if it makes us more stupid.

This reminds me to the story of NASA spending a lot of money to invent the Zero Gravity Pen just so that their astronauts can write on the space while the Soviets just used pencils for the same purpose. LoL.
